ferry engagement session adventure sessions

It’s engagement photos season!! Some of our wedding packages come with what we call “adventure sessions”. We love when couples book adventure sessions because we get to spend a little extra time shooting in multiple locations that are meaningful to you as a couple.

If you’ve photographed with me before then you’ve heard be say it already. My absolute FAVORITE way to shoot is to wander, adventure, hike, explore and just take photos along the way. I want your session -and your wedding! – to feel absolutely as natural as possible. Let’s hang out! Let’s go for an adventure and maybe grab a beer on the ferry (the Puget Sound Ferry system has got a great local beer/cider selection! also, photo sessions should always include a drink to loosen everyone up… just my two cents).

We had such a good time at all the downtown Seattle hotspots (Pike Place Market, the Great Wheel, Post Alley) and even swapped our recommendations for the best speakeasys in town. (We are obsessed with this idea.)

Overall, the bonus point of shooting an adventure session is really getting time with your photographer – learning their quirks (trust me, I’ve got lots) and just getting used to being in each others space. For most of my clients, they haven’t had professional photos taken since…. high school graduation? If that? So getting in front of the camera can be A.W.K.W.A.R.D. First, hear me when I say “being awkward in front of the camera is GOOD! That’s right where I want you as a photographer.” I love the giggles – the laughter – the joy that comes from not knowing what the heck you’re doing. I absolutely love it.

Anyhow, enjoy just a snippet of an absolutely perfect Seattle day.Pike Place Market Photography sessionFerry Engagement PhotosSeattle Engagement Photos
