These guys had the perfect Narrows Bridge Engagement Session. Tide completely rolled in and trapped us and they never once complained (at least not to my face! ha!)
We have ALWAYS said, we have the best people who become part of the CKP family and traipsing through the water at Tacoma Narrows Park with these two, and running shoeless for their Narrows bridge engagement session… that was everything.
A few pro-tips I learned about this location while shooting:
- DO always check the tide charts. Even if you location scouted before hand – check the tide chart, the same time of day means nothing as far as the tide is concerned.
- DON’T look up at the bridge while walking along the side of it – I don’t know what it is about that. I had no problem looking down at the water, but walking and looking up? Made me all dizzy.
- DO talk endlessly about the worlds largest octopus that lives under the bridge (go Seattle Kraken!)
- DON’T walk against pedestrian traffic. Follow the arrows on the ground of the Narrows Bridge walkway (duh). Cyclists are coming screaming across the bridge + they won’t (and shouldn’t have to) wait for you to move out of their way.
- DO run, jump, play ballerina, giggle, dip your fiancĂ©’, kiss her, rub noses + my all time favorite – smell her forehead… (if you’ve been photographed by me – you know)
