First off – we would take any excuse to get over to Wisconsin… the hubs’ birth place – the home of the Green Bay Packers…. CHEESE… but THIS has got to be the best reason to be there: a killer wedding.
It was a blitz of a weekend – we flew in Friday night, got up at 7am Saturday to head up to Oconto, shot a wedding til about midnight, drove an hour to the hotel…. I wouldn’t change a thing. So much fun to get to share this day with David + Carolyn and their families.
Secondly… my FAVORITE thing to shoot – of all time – is a marriage AFTER you’re already married. (don’t get me wrong, I love the first marriage too) but I’ve had the honor of photographing a handful of weddings well after the couple has gone through a civil ceremony or a small scale wedding of some sort for various reasons. Or, vow renewals count in this category as well.
There’s just nothing like saying “i do” after you’ve had a taste of what you’re really getting yourself into. The ups and downs and the beauty and the chaos and you still stand there and say, “I would do it all over again, every day”… yeesh. I well up a little just thinking about having our own vow renewal. I would be a MESS. the hubs would be a MESS. (the struggle is real) but we’d do it again… and again… it’s what makes marriage so amazing.
ANYHOW, I digress… these two – I love them. and I love everything about their wisconsin wedding vibes.
