These two kids recently said their I Dos in an intimate Catholic Mass at St. Leo’s Parish in Tacoma. They had family in town from all over the country including the groom’s family from New Orleans. We in the PNW have been blessed with some ridiculously good weather as of late (80 degrees in April??) so when you’ve got guests in from out of town – it’s important that they see Washington state isn’t only about the rain! The couple and their family took a trip up to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival and brought back with them their wedding flowers & wedding floral decor. You can’t get more locally grown than that!

After a sweet ceremony, and over at the Slavonian Hall in North Tacoma, we had one of our liveliest receptions yet! This wedding party really knew how to celebrate. Some of the happiest people I’ve yet to be around.

As you scroll through these photos, stop and take a look at this bride’s sweet father-daughter dance. I’ve shot a lot of weddings and there’s not much that chokes me up anymore – but this bride and her family brought tears to my eyes. If dad has to watch his daughter dance from Heaven, than I’m sure he’s happy to see all of the men in her life cut in for a chance to fill some unfillable shoes. Goodness. There’s a lump in my throat just typing about it.

Thanks for shooting this one with me Julia Kinnunen! Congratulations Kate + Kevin!
